How To Draw A Donut - Kawaii Style - Easy Step By Step Guide

Continuing with the cute food tutorials, we’ll be learning how to draw a donut in our kawaii art style!

The donut is super easy to draw. We stuck heart sprinkles on the top but you can do anything that looks tasty : )

Art Supplies

Here’s a list of coloring supplies we recommend to use, however, feel free to use whatever you can find around the house!

Pencil, Marker, Sharpie, Pen (Anything you can draw with!)
Paper (We love marker paper but use anything you can find).

Colored Markers (if you want to color the drawing).
Here are what we think are the best colored pencils, best gel pens and best markers for coloring.
Your imagination (feel free to change colors or add things to the drawing!).

If you are already a fan of a particular marker/coloring brand you may want to check out a few of our other guides such for popular brands such as Ohuhu markers, Artzea and Prismacolor markers.

Otherwise, just pick whatever coloring tools you have around the house (crayons, markers, pencil crayons etc.) and just have some fun!

A Few Tips Before You Start Drawing

The hands and arms can be tricky. Take it slow and start with the thumb to help space and size the hand.

Let’s Draw A Kawaii Donut – Step By Step

howtodrawakawaiidonut-step1 — **Step 1:** We have to do the body of our donut first. It has to be an oval shape, like the sample above.

howtodrawakawaiidonut-step2 — **Step 2:** Draw a small oval a little bit above the center to represent the hole.

howtodrawakawaiidonut-step3 — **Step 3:** Draw the frosting part by making wavy lines from edge to edge, leaving a space below to draw the face later.

Note that the frosting is following the bottom outline of the donut (curved and not straight horizontal).

howtodrawakawaiidonut-step4 — **Step 4:** Below the frosting, draw two round circles for the eyes. In the middle of the eyes, add a small U-shaped stroke.

howtodrawakawaiidonut-step5 — **Step 5:** Add the hands on each side – each with three cute little fingers.

howtodrawakawaiidonut-step6 — **Step 6:** Let’s decorate the top part with little hearts! Draw in random direction, let’s imagine they were sprinkles!

At the bottom part, just add small circles on the sides of the cheek.

howtodrawakawaiidonut-step7 — **Step 7:** We will now put details on the eyes. Draw one big and one small circle inside (like the image). Shade the outer part black. Leave the two circles inside the eyes white.

howtodrawakawaiidonut-step8 — **Step 8:** Coloring time! You may choose whatever color you like for the frosting and for the heart sprinkles. A different shade will be nice for the donut’s face.

howtodrawakawaiidonut-step9 — **Step 9:** Complete the touch by adding darker shades on the hole, edges of the frosting, as well as at the bottom outline of your donut. So cute! Kawaii!
