The next few tutorials are going to focus on drawing kawaii, cute drinks and food. Today, let’s learn how to draw a drink in our kawaii art style.

We decided to go with a common drink container that you’ll usually get with cold, iced drinks (coffee, boba tea etc…). Super easy to draw and gives you lots of room to customize the inside drink itself : )

Art Supplies

Here’s a list of coloring supplies we recommend to use, however, feel free to use whatever you can find around the house!

Pencil, Marker, Sharpie, Pen (Anything you can draw with!)
Paper (We love marker paper but use anything you can find).
Colored Markers (if you want to color the drawing).
Here are what we think are the best colored pencils, best gel pens and best markers for coloring.

Your imagination (feel free to change colors or add things to the drawing!).

If you are already a fan of a particular marker/coloring brand you may want to check out a few of our other guides such for popular brands such as Ohuhu markers, Artzea and Prismacolor markers.

Otherwise, just pick whatever coloring tools you have around the house (crayons, markers, pencil crayons etc.) and just have some fun!

A Few Tips Before You Start Drawing

Nothing too tricky but save the coloring of the container for last (so it doesn’t overlap with the other colors)

Let’s Draw A Kawaii Drink – Step By Step

howtodrawakawaiidrink-step1 — **Step 1:** Let’s start drawing the base of our drink cup first. Draw a short, slightly curved line.

howtodrawakawaiidrink-step2 — **Step 2:** Add two vertical lines on each side, slanted a bit so our cup will have a wider opening.

howtodrawakawaiidrink-step3 — **Step 3:** Seal the top part of the cup by connecting them with a curved line again.

howtodrawakawaiidrink-step4 — **Step 4:** Draw two slanted parallel lines to make for the straw. Note that on the top tip, one line is shorter that the other.

It’s also good to consider having enough space from the left side of your cup and the straw for one of the eyes later.

howtodrawakawaiidrink-step5 — **Step 5:** Close the tip of the straw by making a small oval while for the bottom, just connect the lines with a curved line.

Draw the lid or cover of the drink cup by making a large, downward curve.

howtodrawakawaiidrink-step6 — **Step 6:** To make a hole in the lid, draw a small C-shape around the straw a little near the lid’s edge. See image above as guide.

howtodrawakawaiidrink-step7 — **Step 7:** Draw the drink inside the cup. Start drawing lines inside, following the sides and bottom of the cup, leaving a little space from the edge. For the top part, draw random curvy up and down strokes. Make sure the straw reaches your drink.

howtodrawakawaiidrink-step8 — **Step 8:** Let’s make the cute face now. Draw two round shapes for the eyes. Add two circles inside each eye – one should be smaller than the other (see sample above). Shade the eyes but leave the two circles inside white.

Don’t forget to add a small little curve in between the eyes for that smile.

howtodrawakawaiidrink-step9 — **Step 9:** Add some bubbles illusion on the drink by drawing circles of different sizes. Follow the sample above where to ideally place them.

Add another line on the lid to complete your drink cup.

howtodrawakawaiidrink-step10 — **Step 10:** Time to color your drink! You may choose whatever color you like for the cup. Note that the straw has a darker shade. Color your drink with a different one, too.

howtodrawakawaiidrink-step11 — **Step 11:** Complete your kawaii drink! Add a final touch on your coloring by having some darker shades on the right side and bottom part of your drink. It will be best to do the same on the straw, too.
