Ever felt the irresistible urge to draw a cute little creature?

Today, let’s learn how to draw a snake in our cute, kawaii art style. These slithery, little creatures can become the world’s most adorable creature when you draw them in a kawaii form. They are also super easy to draw with the main focus being on the body.

This makes it great for beginners and kids who want some fun but don’t have any experience yet

We’ve added a cute flower accessory and colored our snake green, but get creative and try out lots of different ideas : ) You could even add sunglasses or a hat!

So grab a pen and paper and let’s get started because once you are done, you won’t be able to stop looking at your cute, little creation.

Art Supplies

Here’s a list of coloring supplies we recommend to use, however, feel free to use whatever you can find around the house!

Pencil, Marker, Sharpie, Pen (Anything you can draw with!)
Paper (We love marker paper but use anything you can find).
Colored Markers (if you want to color the drawing).
Here are what we think are the best colored pencils, best gel pens and best markers for coloring.

Your imagination (feel free to change colors or add things to the drawing!).

Otherwise, just pick whatever coloring tools you have around the house (crayons, markers, pencil crayons etc.) and just have some fun!

A Few Tips Before You Start Drawing

Focus on the body and the round shapes. Follow our step by step guide and you’ll get it! Once that is done, it’s super easy to finish the rest!

Let’s Draw A Kawaii Snake – Step By Step

howtodraw-a-kawaii-snake-step1 — **Step 1:** Let’s start drawing our kawaii snake with a cute little flower.

howtodraw-a-kawaii-snake-step2 — **Step 2:** Add some details in the middle to make it nicer.

howtodraw-a-kawaii-snake-step3 — **Step 3:** Next is to make a wide curve at the bottom, touching the flower.

howtodraw-a-kawaii-snake-step4 — **Step 4:** From the flower, continue drawing an arch above to form the snake’s head and body.

howtodraw-a-kawaii-snake-step5 — **Step 5:** Continue drawing a curve downwards then connect it back up to the face, as shown above.

howtodraw-a-kawaii-snake-step6 — **Step 6:** Draw a little curl right after the previous step.

howtodraw-a-kawaii-snake-step7 — **Step 7:** At the back part, draw a little pointy shape that will become the snake’s tail.

howtodraw-a-kawaii-snake-step8 — **Step 8:** Time to draw the eyes by making two round circles with one smaller circle inside. Shade the bigger circle black, leaving the smaller blank.

howtodraw-a-kawaii-snake-step9 — **Step 9:** Draw a tiny wavy stroke for the nose area. Place this in the middle space between the eyes.

howtodraw-a-kawaii-snake-step10 — **Step 10:** Around the outline of the snake’s body, draw uneven oval shapes for the scales. See sample above as guide.

howtodraw-a-kawaii-snake-step11 — **Step 11:** Time to add some blush on the cheeks for that kawaii look! Make a round shape near the eyes.

howtodraw-a-kawaii-snake-step12 — **Step 12:** Coloring time! Our kawaii snake is green but we used a darker shade for the scales. The pink flower is really cute, too! You may choose your own color and get inspired with this example. Have fun!
