Step 1: Let’s start with the front part of the pumpkin by doing a long C-like curve on the left portion.

Step 2: Do the same on the right side to close the figure.

Step 3: On each side, allot a little space so we can start drawing the leaves. Add a slightly wavy, downward stroke to begin.

Step 4: Complete the formation of the leaves on each side. Add the thick vein in the middle (midrib) of each leaf and the outer shape, as seen above.

Step 5: Now for the eyes! Draw two, big round circles on each side of the pumpkin’s edge/line.

In each eye, draw two circles inside – one big, one small. They will remain white as you shade the rest of the circle black.

Step 6: Add the open mouth in between the lower middle part of the eyes. Draw a curve line inside to make the tongue.

On top of each eye, draw a small oval to mark the eyebrows.

Step 7: We’re now going to add more pumpkin volume. Add some ‘ribs’ on each side of the face. Notice that the left rib portion is curved higher than the right side and this is just fine. End your strokes at the bottom with an inward curve. Remember not to write on the leaves.

Step 8: Add another set of ribs on each side, as shown above. Quick note the the top portion of the right side has a little space that will be closed by the next step.

Step 9: Start drawing the stem above the pumpkin. Make two twirls, as shown on top.

Step 10: Leave a little space from the twirls above and draw an oval with rings inside.

Step 11: Connect the oval rings to the stem by adding a slightly wavy stroke from the left tip of the oval to the right edge of the twirled stem.

Step 16: The best part now – coloring time! You may choose a bright orange color and add lighter shades on each rib section. Leaves and stems are green for that contrast of colors.

Now that’s one kawaii pumkin you did! Good job!
