Anyone that has played Minecraft before will instantly recognize this blocky guy. Steve is the default, male, character you start with in Minecraft.

He’s actually not too difficult to draw. You can draw the entire character with straight lines. No curves necessary (except the mouth).

This drawing challenge is doable for both kids & older beginner artists.

Here’s a list of supplies we recommend to use, however, feel free to use whatever you can find around the house!

Pencil, Marker, Sharpie, Pen (Anything you can draw with!)
Paper (We love marker paper but use anything you can find).
Colored Markers (if you want to color the drawing).
Here are what we think are the best colored pencils, best gel pens and best markers for coloring.
Your imagination (feel free to change colors or add things to the drawing!).

A Few Tips Before You Start Drawing

Take it slow – every piece of Steve is drawn with a straight line at different angles (except mouth). The head can be tricky to make it look 3D but careful placement of the lines is all you need.

Let’s Draw Steve From Minecraft – Step By Step

How To Draw Steve From Minecraft Step 1 — **Step 1:** To start, just draw a square.

How To Draw Steve From Minecraft Step 2 — **Step 2:** On the top right corner of the square, draw a straight line, angled slightly downwards.

How To Draw Steve From Minecraft Step 3 — **Step 3:** Leave a very small space under the bottom line of the square and draw a much longer horizontal line. This will be the top of the body.

How To Draw Steve From Minecraft Step 4 — **Step 4:** Go back to the head and draw a vertical line going down from the step 2 line you drew. Draw it down until it touches the top of the body.

How To Draw Steve From Minecraft Step 5 — **Step 5:** The main body is just a rectangle. Draw down, over and up but leave some of the top body line sticking out on each side.

How To Draw Steve From Minecraft Step 14 — **Step 14:** Draw the eyes and mouth now. Don’t fill in the eyes at all. Keep them as simple rectangles.

The nose is a horizontal (sideways) rectangle. You can draw and fill it in using another brown or black if you don’t have other colors.
