How To Draw Kirby - Kawaii Style - Easy Step By Step Guide

Today, let’s learn how to draw Kirby. One of the most popular characters in video game history is none other than this lovable pink ball with a mouth that can swallow anything.

Kirby was released by Nintendo in 1992 and has been a fan favorite ever since. He’s so cute and adorable, which makes it hard to believe he can be such a powerful force.

Drawing Kirby is a lot easier than you might think so we’ve put together this step by step guide for you!

Art Supplies

Here’s a list of coloring supplies we recommend to use, however, feel free to use whatever you can find around the house!

Pencil, Marker, Sharpie, Pen (Anything you can draw with!)
Paper (We love marker paper but use anything you can find).

Colored Markers (if you want to color the drawing).
Here are what we think are the best colored pencils, best gel pens and best markers for coloring.
Your imagination (feel free to change colors or add things to the drawing!).

If you are already a fan of a particular marker/coloring brand you may want to check out a few of our other guides such for popular brands such as Ohuhu markers, Artzea and Prismacolor markers.

Otherwise, just pick whatever coloring tools you have around the house (crayons, markers, pencil crayons etc.) and just have some fun!

A Few Tips Before You Start Drawing

Focus on the body, once you have that done, the rest is super easy!

Let’s Draw Kirby – Step By Step

howtodraw-kirby-step1 — **Step 1:** Let’s start with one of Kirby’s feet. Draw an egg-like shape. It should be tilted a little bit on the right side.

howtodraw-kirby-step2 — **Step 2:** Draw a curve just above the upper left side of the egg shape.

howtodraw-kirby-step3 — **Step 3:** Make a big, round shape that will make Kirby’s body. It should reach (but not go beyond) the first two shapes you made.

howtodraw-kirby-step4 — **Step 4:** Add a small, sharp curve just outside the upper right portion of its body.

howtodraw-kirby-step5 — **Step 5:** Next is to draw the second foot. Draw a wider curve at the bottom part of its body, reaching the edge of the first foot.

howtodraw-kirby-step6 — **Step 6:** Now it’s time to draw the eyes by making two oval shapes. Place it near the right edge of the body, quite opposite the hand.

howtodraw-kirby-step7 — **Step 7:** Add another thick, oval line inside each of the eyes to give an illusion that it’s looking upwards.

howtodraw-kirby-step8 — **Step 8:** Draw the mouth like an inverted triangle with round edges.

howtodraw-kirby-step9 — **Step 9:** Add the stars on the upper right and bottom left corner. It’s good to have a variation of star sizes.

howtodraw-kirby-step10 — **Step 10:** Add a curve line as a detail for the feet. See image above as guide for both feet.

howtodraw-kirby-step11 — **Step 11:** Last touch is to add oval shape blush on the cheeks for that kawaii look! Place it just near the bottom of its eyes.

howtodraw-kirby-step12 — **Step 12:** Final step is to add life on your drawing by coloring it! Kirby is pink while the shoes is colored dark pink. You can also add some dark and light shades around the body. Don’t forget to color the stars!
