How To Draw Harry Potter

Today, let’s learn how to draw Harry Potter.

Harry Potter is one of the most iconic fictional characters in recent history. He has a legion of fans all over the world, and we’re no exception. In this post, we will be drawing Harry Potter in our kawaii style. This means that he won’t look like the intimidating (is he really though?) wizard from Hogwarts, but instead will be rendered as a cute little boy with his signature round glasses!

It’s super easy to draw him and we’ll provide step-by-step instructions on how to do it!

A Few Tips Before You Start Drawing

  • His hair can be a bit tricky with all the pieces sticking out but if you draw the bottom of his head first, it makes it a lot easier!
  • Make sure to keep this round glasses large to help with the chibi/cute look!

Step 1: Let’s draw the outline of Harry’s face. Make a wide U-shape and a little curve on the right side for his small ear.

Step 2: Next is to make his hair. Allow a bigger space between his face and the edges of his face for that hair volume. Make varying wavy strokes as you draw Harry’s hair outline.

Step 3: Close the hair outline up to his ear. Add a few more triangular hair waves on the left part.

Step 4: For his bangs, start by connecting two curved lines that have a wide opening. Draw additional strokes on the left part of this space and some wavy styles on the right part.

Step 5: Add more wavy strokes until you reach his ear to complete his bangs. You may follow the arrows above as guide.

Step 6: Next is to start drawing his eyes. Add a thick downward curve for each eye and thin stroke underneath each.

It will be best to put the left eye near the edge of his face, under that wide opening on his bangs.

Step 7: From the right tip of his thick eye contour, draw a small circle below it for his eyeball (you can shade it black already at this point). Add a thin line around this eyeball to emphasize his eyes. Do the same on the other side.

Step 10: Now for his eyeglasses – draw two round circles (one for each eye touching his eyebrows) and connect them with a short curve stroke in the middle. Add a curved line as well to connect this at the back of his ear.

Step 11: Next step is for his clothes. Draw a small U-shape curve under his chin. On each side, draw triangular shapes (as seen above) as part of his coat.

Step 12: On the right section, draw a long rectangular-like shape angled outwards for his long sleeves (with the opening edge slightly wider)

Step 18: Let’s slowly add details on his clothes. Draw a V-shape on the mid portion, just slightly above the tips of his collar.

Next is a straight line on his waist (align it with the edge of his sleeves).

Then, draw slanted lines outwards from the U-shape you made on his neck.
