How To Draw Bart Simpson

“Don’t Have A Cow, Man” – One of Bart’s famous quotes from The Simpsons. We love this character and thought it would be a lot of fun to try and draw him.

Our step by step tutorial to draw Bart Simpson is a little longer than others but that is because we thought it would be easier to keep each step, really simple. So don’t feel overwhelmed with all the steps on this character. It isn’t nearly as hard as it seems.

If you follow our lesson, you should be able to pull off a pretty good-looking Bart Simpson drawing.

- Bart has been in Grade 4 since 1989. (when The Simpsons first aired on TV)
- He has a twin brother named Hugo.
- The voice actor for Bart is actually a woman.

A Few Tips Before You Start Drawing

  • Bart has 9 spikes on his head for his hair. See if you can match that same amount.

Let’s Draw Bart Simpson  – Step By Step

Step 1: Draw A Circle. This is one of Bart’s eyes.

Step 2: Draw his nose. It’s long but not too tall/wide. Almost like a peanut shell
Step 3: Draw Bart’s 2nd eye.
Step 4: Add 2 dots (one in each eye) for his pupils and then start from the nose and go down and around for the top of his mouth.
Step 5: Finish the mouth/start of neck.
Step 6: Draw his ear. A little up and left of the side of his mouth.
Step 7: Draw a long, slightly curved, line for his hair/back of head. Start from the top go down.
Step 8: Draw Bart’s hair. Easy up and down triangle tops.
Step 9: Finish off the other side of his head.
Step 10: Draw the neck line/top of shirt.
Step 11: Continue with the body. Bart’s belly sticks out a little so make sure you add that little bump on the bottom.
Step 12: Start his shoulders.
Step 13: Draw the sleeve ends for the shirt.
Step 14: Draw Bart’s arms next.
Step 15: Draw his back area. It’s a little round like his belly.
Step 16: Draw the waist line next.
Step 17: Start his legs/shorts next.
Step 18: Draw the short ends.
Step 19: Add a few lines to the shorts to help with detail/depth.
Step 20: Draw his pocket on the shorts.
Step 21: Draw is legs.
Step 22: Draw the sock/shoe tops on his legs.
Step 23: Draw his first shoe.
Step 24: Add the bottom shoe detail to this first shoe.
Step 25: Start drawing the other shoe.
Step 26: Add the last shoe details. This one has a little partially cut circle on the side. Don’t color that in. It’ll stay white inside.
Step 27: Lots of steps but you did it! Color it all up and pat yourself on the back. Good job!
