A Few Tips Before You Start Drawing

  • Focus on the body outline and you’ll do great! Not much to this penguin other than the body : )

Let’s Draw A Cute Penguin – Step By Step

Step 1: Let’s start drawing the head of our cute penguin first by making a wide downward curve.

Step 2: Extend both sides downwards, ending with a curved tip. Note that the left side is a bit more round while the right side just extends down plainly.

Step 3: Make a shape similar to a heart that will make our penguin’s face. The left curve is a bit narrower than the right. No pointy tip at the bottom, just leave it open.

It’s good to note that the line near the left side is very near to the edge as compared to the right.

Step 4: Close the bottom part of the penguin’s body by simply connecting them with a line. For the feet, just continue the outer lines with an inward curve until it touches the body, as shown on the image.

Step 5: Next to draw are the flippers! Make an upward curve stroke for the left part (like it’s waving) while a relaxed, downward flipper on the right.

Step 6: Let’s make the face! Make two vertical ovals for the eyes. Add ovals on the cheeks, horizontally done for the blush. Don’t forget that little line in the middle to make a beak.

Step 7: Shade the eyes black.

Step 8: Coloring time! The outer part is usually black while the inner body color is something lighter. Pink is a good choice. Note that the beak and blush colors are to be darker or different shades.

Step 9: Add a little dark shade at the bottom of the body to complete the your artwork! Good job!
